English: SVG vector diagram of a maximum permissible speed sign used in Great Britain indicating a limit of 40mph applied to the line diverging to the left. Drawn according to standards set out by the Railway Safety and Standards Board. The placement of the arrow sign below the speed sign was common in the Scottish region, from the introduction of this style sign in the mid 1980s, until around 2003.
