MAULESDEN, Dundee, 1570 Tons. Built at Dundee 1875.
Shows a three masted sailing ship. The smartest run ever made to Australia was made by this ship 68 days from Greenock to Maryborough, Queensland. 1882. This photo shows her in Otago Harbour. First voyage.

Information supplied by Fraser Morrison, sourced from the Dundee Advertiser 30.10.1875, Ingram's Shipping notes from the Central Library, Dundee and Dundee University Library Archives and Lloyd's Captains Register at the Guildhall Library London: Maulesden [British Reg. No. 73395]. September 30, 1875. Launched as yard no. 61 by Mrs. T. H. Cox [wife of one of the owners] for The Dundee Clipper Line [manager David Bruce] at the shipyard of A. Stephen & Sons, Dundee. Dimensions: length 245ft, breadth 38ft and depth of hold 23ft. Registered tonnage1500. First captain Henry Boaden late of the S.S. Seafield, London. Maiden passage London - Otago [Dunedin] in 75 days. Record passage in 1883, 69 days from Greenock to Maryborough, Qld under the command of John Yule Millar born Edinburgh 1842 [Captains cert. no. 99119, Glasgow 1875]. In 1896 sold and renamed Ortrud. About 1914 renamed Nostra Signora della Guardia. August 30, 1916, sunk off Cape Antonio by a Uboat while on passage from Philadelphia to Savona. .
