English: The Maulana Azad Central Library building is a fine example of early 20th century architecture, constructed in 1908 by Sultan Jahan Begum of Bhopal.
It was originally known as the Edward Museum, and is one of the few remaining buildings in Bhopal from this period. Its unique design and construction reflect the city's rich cultural heritage. Since 1955 it is renamed with it's current name. This library houses a unique collection of Sanskrit, Persian, and Urdu language books, in addition to its Hindi and English language holdings. Currently it has 10000+ members and collection of 1 lakh+ books. |
