English: The painting from about 1340 is the work of Florentine artist Maso di Banco, beside Taddeo Gaddi the most talented pupil of Giotto. Tempera on wood with arched top, 29 1/4 x 16 in. (74.3 x 40.6 cm). The panel came from Berlin in 1943 where it belonged to other parts of a polyptych, two of the five parts were destroyed due to the war.
