idal Soap, 1per cent., is 30x20 or 600 times as active as a5 per cent, solution of carbolic acid. A richlather will contain 1 per cent, of GermicidalSoap, which is therefore six times as active as5 per cent, carbolic, or equal to 30 per cent.carbolic. Yet Germicidal Soap does not irri-tate the skin or injure steel or nickel. Germicidal Soap is useful in every depart-ment of medical practice. In obstetrics andgynecology it is a valuable antiseptic, deodo-rant and lubricant for the examining finger orinstrument. In surgery it is an admirable gen-eral disinfectant; it can be used to prepareantiseptic solutions without measuring, weigh-ing or waste. In office practice it is useful asa disinfectant for the hands after examinationsand in the treatment of parasitic diseases. Itis serviceable in cleansing minor wounds; as adeodorant in cases of hyperidrosis with offen-sive odor; for cleansing the scalp and checkingdandruff.
