The Wassermann reaction is steadily coming into more commonuse, and its value as a routine procedure is being more fully appre-ciated. A number of reports of such routine examination havebeen made, notably one by Dr. Albert A. Homer (Boston Medicaland Surgical Journal, February 10, 1916) on 500 cases at the Mas-sachusetts General Hospital, in which he found that 17.4 per cent,of the patients tested gave a positive reaction.
