tricial trachoma, theblades of the speculum could not be opened quite wide enough toallow free movement of the knife, the corneal section had to beenlarged with the scissors ; prolapse of the iris was noted two day^later; vision lost. Case 22—White man, age 68 years ; simple extraction. A smallair bubble and some soft lens substance remained in the anteriorchamber; six days after operation eye was clear and bright; onthe seventh day there was blood in the anterior chamber and thecorneal wound had the appearance of having been recentlyopened ; four days later the blood had been absorbed and the eyewas clear and bright and he could count fingers easily. He left thehospital the eleventh day after operation.
