| Description |
English: Maryfield, Abbeyhill One of the Abbeyhill colonies, built in the middle of the 19th century by the Edinburgh Co-operative Building Company which attempted to improve the quality of working-class houses by providing every family with its own front door and garden. The name of the street, originally the district, was taken from a house which still stands, hidden by surrounding tenements at the top of Easter Road and accessed through an entrance in Rossie Place. |
