Mary Cassatt (1845–1926) exhibited a painting entitled Mère et enfant, 1903, in Oil, at the 1913 Armory Show. It was listed for sale at the show from New York 493, Gallery O, Durand-Ruel & Sons, $4,950 It has more recently been identified by the title Reine Lefebre and Margot before a Window (1902). Mary Cassatt: A Catalogue Raisonné of the Oils, Pastels, Watercolors, and Drawings, Washington: Smithsonian Institution Press, 1970 (164) identifies this painting as the one Cassatt exhibited for sale at the Armory Show in 1913. |
