Damit wurde den Begründern des wissenschaftlichen Sozialismus, Karl Marx und Friedrich Engels, zum ersten Mal in Deutschland ein gemeinsames Denkmal errichtet.

erster Standort: Anlagen des Schillerplatzes an der Straße der Nationen.

umgesetzt zum Karl-Marx-Platz wohl mit Umbenennung des Realgymnasiums zur - nun ehemaligen - Karl-Marx-Oberschule nahe am Park der OdF.
