Summary
[edit]DescriptionMartyrs memorial - geograph.org.uk - 373333.jpg |
English: Martyrs memorial The memorial was erected in 1910 by public subscription in memory of eleven protestants who were burned to death at the stake in Little Park during the years 1510 to 1555. It originally stood a few yards away at the old junction of Mile Lane, Quinton Road and Park Road but when the inner ring road was constructed it was moved to within the traffic island of junction 5 between Ringway St Patrick's and Ringway St John's. Behind, to the right, are houses in St Patrick's Road on the other side of the ringway. The tower block behind the cross is at the corner of Eaton Road and the ringway and the one on the left is in Station Square. |
