Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Marsh Lane Narrows at Forster Bridge, near Wolverhampton. The Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, carved as a cutting into the sandstone bedrock, is less than the width of two boats. A passing place for two boats (maximum - but with difficulty if they are 70 footers) is just south of the bridge; the camera position is there. The approaching narrowboat is in the thinnest part of the canal and is moving very slowly. Sometimes you can meet a procession of boats coming through, so waiting is protracted, but if a procession is also behind you ... oh what fun! :-) Sequence: a passage north through the narrows #7.
