Description

Hôtel de Ville | Quai du Port Initially La Samaritaine was a lingerie store created in 1860. Three partners already owners of Marseille cafes purchased the department store and turned it into a brewery in 1910. This is the true birth of the Samaritaine Café.

During German occupation, in 1945, an incendiary shells exploded just nearby La Samaritaine, a fire occured, spread and within hours the brasserie was completely destroyed. La Samaritaine was completely rebuilt, but remained closed for nearly two years. It reopened in 1948.
