Description
Français : Maroc - Mauresque dans son intérieur. La photographie montre une mauresque (femme marocaine) lors du rituel ancestral de la cérémonie du thé à la menthe. À côté, la servante est une femme noire, appelée "Haratine" qui est un terme générique utilisé en Afrique du Nord pour désigner les esclaves affranchis importés d'Afrique subsaharienne. La femme Maure, maitresse de maison est vêtue de son Caftan marocain richement brodé.
English: Morocco - Moorish woman in her interior. The photograph shows a Moorish (Moroccan woman) during the ancestral ritual of the mint tea ceremony. Next to it, the servant is a black woman, called "Haratine" which is a generic term used in North Africa to designate freed slaves imported from sub-Saharan Africa. The Moorish woman, mistress of the house, is dressed in her richly embroidered Moroccan Caftan.
