English: Marmes Rockshelter Site is located behind a semi-circular breakwater constructed by the Army Corps Of Engineers to control reservoir flooding. Remains excavated beginning in 1962 are among the oldest verified in North American archaeology. Site was named for the original property owner, Roland Marmes.
