English: Marl Loch, Aberlady Bay. Hundreds of tadpoles wriggling near the bank of this fresh water loch at Aberlady Bay Local Nature Reserve, Britain's first Local Nature Reserve (1952). Two thirds of the reserve is sand, mudflats and salt marsh falling below the high tide mark. |
