English: ARC Identifier: 541687 Saarbruecken, France. Market day in Saarbruecken, the Saar's capital. The Saar is the most densly populated area in Europe, with 430 people per square kilometer. Of one year's consumption of food only a six-week supply can be grown in the Saar. Most Saarlaenders grow at least some of their own food on a plot of land. There are 38,497 such farm plots in the little Saar state , ca. 1948 - ca. 1955
