| Description |
The church dates from the 12th century onwards and consists of a western tower, nave with north and south aisles, chancel, north Lady Chapel, south vestry, and south porch. The tower was built around 1405, the nave and chancel having been built about a hundred years earlier. The south door however is late Norman. Much of the church was heavily restored in 1862 by James Fowler. The Lady Chapel was added by Fowler in 1877 and contains a stained-glass window by Edward Payne. The choir stalls and screens are from the demolished St Marks Church of Lincoln. There is a modern font by Lawrence Bond from 1963 near the south door. In 1995 the organ was moved to its current position in the chancel. At the east end of the south aisle is a First World War Memorial |
