English: Market Place, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, seen from the southwest at the opening of the Charter Fair, with St Giles' parish church on the right. Crowds gather outside the Town Hall on Thursday just before noon for the official opening of the Annual Charter Fair and once St Giles' bells have been rung they scramble to join the Mayoral Party for a customary free ride on the Dodgems. This view shows onlookers waiting for the Mayor to make his way in front of the Waltzer. |
