Nederlands: Op de grens tussen Tubbergen, Vriezenveen en Almelo is op donderdag 4 oktober een originele Marke grenspaal teruggeplaatst. De steen is meer dan twee honderd jaar oud. Hij is bij toeval terug gevonden op een nabij gelegen boerenerf door Bert Nijkamp van het platform Markegrenzen.
Bouwbedrijf Westerhof heeft de zo genaamde Beusesteen van Bentheimer zandsteen geplaatst ter hoogte van de Schipsloot en de Beuzegraven. Vroeger ging er veel scheepvaart door de Schipsloot die later overgaat in de Hollandergraven. Er werd veel turf via deze waterweg vervoerd. De Beuzegraven was een kleinere sloot die was aangelegd om te zorgen voor de nodige afwatering in het vroeger zo moerassig gebied. Er was destijds maar een boerderij in het gebied met de naam Verre Broekhuis. |
