Description
English: A portret of Mark Twain sketch by Jan Szczepanik with the autograph of the writer. Upon this portet a machine weaven silk tapestry was made (9 x 12,5 cm) and issed with the each copy of "Penrose's Pictorial Annual" (known English magazine) in each magazine of 1903 and 1904 year's issue for promotion Szczepanik's method of machine weaving (that saving human work and cost of production).
Polski: Portret Marka Twaina z jego autografem naszkicowany przez Jana Szczepanika podczas ich spotkania. Na podstawie własnego rysunku Szczepanik utkał maszynowo cieniutką nitką jedwabną gobelin (9 x 12,5 cm), który został umieszczony w każdym egzemplarzu rocznika 1903 - 1904 cenionego angielskiego wydawnictwa "Penrose's Pictorial Annual". Gobelin ten oraz artykuł Wiliama Gamble'a promowały metodę tkacką Szczepanika, jako oszczędzającą pracę ludzką i obniżającą koszty produkcji.
