| Description |
English: Mark Gertler's studio, Well Mount Studios, Well Road, Hampstead. The artist moved to Hampstead during WW1 and used these premises in New End Square. He was a conscientous objector and it is said that the wounded soldiers he saw at the annual fair on Hampstead Heath inspired his painting Merry-Go-Round, see http://www.tate.org.uk/servlet/ViewWork?workid=5130
