Description

"Digging Out: Marine Lance Corporal John R. Cantrell, left (Fort Smith, Arkansas), and Private First Class Ronald E. Jordan (Lancaster, South Carolina) dig out an enemy bunker during Operation Meade River, southwest of Da Nang. The multi-battalion operation consisted of Army of the Republic of Vietnam soldiers, Republic of Korea Marines, and 5,000 American Marines. It was the largest heli-assault in the history of the Marine Corps."
