English: Col. Christopher Hughes, Headquarters Marine Corps Division of Public Affairs Deputy Director, visits with Dr. Re McClung in the Maj. Megan McClung Conference Room located in the HQMC Division of Public Affairs Office at the Pentagon, Nov. 28. The conference room was dedicated to Maj. McClung after her Humvee struck a massive improvised explosive device, instantly killing her and two U.S. Army soldiers in Iraq, Dec. 6, 2006. McClung served as the public affairs officer for the Army's 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division. Re and her husband Dr. Michael McClung, a Vietnam veteran and former Marine Corps infantry officer, have been devoted to carry on their daughter's legacy, which revolved around the three things she lived by: mind, body and spirit. |
