Description

"Call For Help: Marine Private First Class William Hand, 20 (Klamath Falls, Oregon), a radioman attached to the 5th Marine Regiment relays a call for artillery fire during two days of bitter fighting in an area known as the Arizona Territory, 17 miles southwest of Da Nang. Marine air strikes and artillery, coupled with ground assaults, destroyed 219 enemy (official USMC photo by Lance Corporal J. Volpe)."
