A Marina de Portimão, situada na barra mais segura do país e com uma localização privilegiada no amplo estuário do Rio Arade, estende-se por uma área de cerca de 25 hectares, enquadrada pelos fortes de Santa Catarina e S. Located in the safest harbour of the country and whitin the confines of the spacious Arade River estuary, the Marina is spread over 25-hectare area, framed by the historical forts of Santa Catarina and São João and affords excellent back-up facilities. The water in the Marina is deep, so vessels can come and go at any state of the tide. It also has a hide entrance and plenty of room for manoeuvring, protected from the prevailing winds. Located whitin a luxury condominium that includes its Exclusive Beach, Restaurants, Shops, Bars and fabulous Oceanic swimming-pool all facing the sea. The facilities include roundtheclock security, as well as a private car-park. Marina de Portimão is proud to have been chosen, in view of its features, as the base for official training of Team ABN AMRO, the crew who won the Volvo Ocean Race aboard the Volvo 70`racing yacht.This year the Marina de Portimão is staging a number of important international events, as the Portugal Trophy TP52, the World Championships Powerboat P1 and the International Big Game Fishing Championship. To end the season, we have the Portimão Global Ocean Race, an event to test the limits of the competitors. The race is designed for sailboats 40`and 50`singly or double handed and is the only round the world Regatta that begins in Portugal. The Marina has private boatyard facilities available for your convenience on the other side of the river, sufficiently close for servicing purpose, yet far enough removed to ensure that Marina users are not affected by any possible inconvenience and pollutionhazards involved with such facilities. The Boatyard offers a vast range of quality services including the capicity to lift boatsof sizes up to 300 tons and also catamarans up to p meters beam. In continuance of its strategy to develop and promote this region, our company is now preparing to launch a new project the Marina de Ferragudo.
