Description |
Français : Présenté à la dernière exposition impressionniste de 1886, ce tableau a vraisemblablement été peint par l'artiste quelques années plus tôt, peu après l’installation du couple à Sèvres. Directement inspiré de promenades effectuées au bois de Saint-Cloud voisin, le sujet met en scène deux élégantes en pleine nature, au bord d’un cours d’eau, s’adonnant au plaisir d’une partie de jacquet, jeu de table assez populaire à l’époque. Non loin du tapis qu’elles ont étendu sur l’herbe, Marie Bracquemond a disposé une petite collation composée d’un sucrier, d’un citron et d’un pichet d’eau en verre. |
