Description
English: Maruet [sic] Gulch trestle, 226 feet high

Northern Pacific Railroad Company track on the wooden Marent Trestle in Missoula County, Montana. Frame and log buildings are in Marent Gulch.

Information inked on verso reads: "Built 1882 + 1883, N.P.R.R. west of Missoula, Mont., replaced by iron bridge in 1884-1885"; and "F.D. Low was on the first locomotive to cross the bridge previous to construction. Helped many time [sic] to measure distance across gulch" penciled on verso.
