Description

Marco Padrão (or Standard Marco) was inaugurated in 1933 by Martim Afonso de Sousa (the first Royal Governor of Brazil)

The monument is the landmark of 400 years celebrating the Foundation of St. Vincent. It lies within an islet in the sea known as the Stone Forest and marks the first permanent settlement in the Americas. It is located in Praia do Gonzaguinha near the Biquinha de Anchieta.
