Summary

Description

Two participants in London's climate change march on 29 November 2015. One holds a placard to remind people that global warming is not a myth while another holds a cuddly polar bear that appears to be smiling despite the grim future forecast by scientists.

Global warming has led already to a catastrophic loss of the polar bear's sea ice habitat and to an increasing scarcity of the fish essential for its' survival. The U.S. geological survey estimates that the world's population of polar bears will have declined by two thirds by 2050.

Those on the London climate march were taking part in a series of rallies worldwide prior to the Paris climate talks. It has already been called the largest weekend of global climate change activism in modern history. Activists want decisive action to limit the rise in average global temperature to 2 degrees celcius above pre-industrial levels.
