Label | Am 22. April 2017 fand weltweit der March for Science statt, in Berlin waren rund 10.000 Menschen gekommen, um von der Humboldt Universität zum Brandenburger Tor zu ziehen. An der ungarischen Botschaften stoppte die Demonstration zum Protest gegen den Umgang der ungarischen Regierung mit Wissenschaften, in Budapest soll eine renommierte Universität geschlossen werden. Eine Stunde nach Beginn der Demonstration hatte der Zug das Brandenburger Tor erreicht. Während sich der Pariser Platz nach und nach mit Demonstranten füllt, begann die Abschlusskundgebung mit Rednern aus großen Forschungsinstitutionen (Jutta Allmendinger, Soziologin, Präsidentin des Wissenschaftszentrums Berlin für Sozialforschung/Matthias Kleiner, Ingenieurwissenschaftler und Präsident der Leibniz-Gemeinschaft, Otmar Wiestler, Mediziner und Präsident der Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft, Sprecher der Allianz der deutschen Wissenschaftsorganisationen, Naika Fourutan, Sozialwissenschaftlerin und Stv. Direktorin des Berliner Instituts für empirische Integrations- und Migrationsforschung, Sara Krieg, Mitorganisatorin und Masterstudentin an der Technischen Universität Berlin und der Wissenschaftsjournalisten Rangar Yogeshwar). Es sprachen auch der Berliner Bürgermeister Michael Müller (SPD), die Abschlussrede hielt der Präsidenten der Freien Universität, Peter-André Alt. Der March for Science wurde Anfang des Jahres von einigen Forschern ins Leben gerufen, als Reaktion auf US-Präsident Trumps Leugnung wissenschaftlicher Fakten. |
