Summary
[edit]DescriptionMarcantonio Raimondi i modi.jpg |
I modi was a book that contained engravings of sexual scenes.[1] The book was created around 1524 - 1527. The engravings were created by Marcantonio Raimondi[1] and based on paintings by Giulio Romano. Jean-Frédéric Waldeck came across a series of engravings of the "I modi" images[2] that contained either Marcantonio's original engravings or a close copy.[2] It presently remains unknown as to what series of engravings that Waldeck saw.[2] This drawing in pen and ink has been copied from one of these engravings.[3][1][2] It was drawn by Waldeck prior to 1853.[1] Waldeck also reproduced these engravings in a series of twenty brush drawings in the 19th century.[2][4][3][1] This pen and ink drawing was not apart of this series of 20 brush drawings.[1] Artist: Jean Waldeck[1] Technique: Drawing Material: Pen and ink Date: Prior to 1853[1] |
