Summary
[edit]DescriptionMappleton Beach (south) - geograph.org.uk - 204834.jpg |
English: Mappleton Beach (south), Mappleton, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Mappleton is a village on the east coast threatened by coastal erosion. The cliffs recede by 2m in a good year and 4m in a bad year! The original map shows the cliff to be about 150 - 200m further out to sea than it is in reality now. Substantial sea defences were erected at great expense in 1991 at Mappleton, but these are showing signs of problems in places too. |
