This map was acquired by the Library of Congress in 1948 with the purchase of the papers and maps of Maj. Jedediah Hotchkiss. It is the base used to produce maps I and II in William Allan's History of the Campaign of Gen. T. J. (Stonewall) Jackson in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia (Philadelphia, J. B. Lippincott & Co., 1880) Troop positions and movements are not indicated. Includes a few annotations in red ink. Description derived from published bibliography.
