| Description |
English: A map of Lower Egypt in ancient times. It is impossible to accurately map the Nile Delta in ancient times because it was subject to constant change. Shorelines have altered, and the number and disposition of the Nile's distributaries have changed over time. This map, however, attempts to reconstruct the Nile Delta as it was, more or less, by drawing on multiple sources (both ancient primary sources, such as Pliny, Strabo and Ptolemy, as well as modern academic studies). |
