Русский: Озеро Байкал и прилегающие территории подробно изучались российскими экспедициями в конце XVIII- начале XIX веков. На этой карте подробно изображена береговая линия озера, а также система впадающих и вытекающих из Байкала рек. Название карты приведено на фоне картуша. Под названием - одноглавый орел, держащий в когтях герб Иркутсткой губернии. На иллюстрации внизу слева изображена Николаевская пристань, расположенная в том месте, где Ангара вытекает из Байкала. На увеличенной карте в правом нижнем углу изображена Посольская пристань, или "Прорва". Указаны результаты промера глубин в футах. При составлении карты был использован принцип перспективы с целью отображения хомов и гор. Озеро Байкал является самым глубоким озером в мире. Общий объем воды в озере приблизительноо равен объему воды в Великих озерах Северной Америки, и составляет около 20 процентов мировых запасов пресной воды.

Cette carte illustre de façon détaillée les rives du lac Baïkal et le réseau de cours d’eau qui s'y jettent et en sortent. Le titre de la carte est présenté dans un cartouche. Sous le titre, un aigle à une tête tient dans ses serres le blason de la province d'Irkoutsk. L'illustration en bas à gauche est une vue de la jetée de Nikolaevsk, là où la rivière Angara sort du lac. This map shows in great detail the shoreline of the lake and the network of rivers flowing into and out of Baikal. The title of the map is shown in a cartouche. Below the title is a single-headed eagle, holding in its talons the coat of arms of Irkutsk Province. The illustration at the lower left is a view of Nikolaevsk Pier, located at the point where the Angara River flows from the lake. The enlarged map in the lower right-hand corner depicts Ambassador's Harbor or "Prorva." The numbers indicate soundings of depth in feet. The map uses perspective to show hills and mountains. Lake Baikal is the deepest lake in the world. Its volume of water is approximately equal to the total volume of the Great Lakes of North America, or to about 20 per cent of all freshwater on the earth.
