Les trous de mine doi-vent néanmoins toujours être percés verticalement et lecharges doivent être diminuées afin que les terres qui ser-vent à remplir les tranchées ne soient pas projetées troploin par lexplosion. CREUSAGE DE PUITS On creuse généralement les puits dans le roc ou dansun sol qui ne peut avantageusement être creusé sans laidedexplosifs. Pour le creusage des puits quand on atteintle roc et que les terres au-dessus ont été soigneusementétayées, on perce en cercle cinq ou six trous de mine àmoitié chemin entre le milieu et le côté des puits, et in-clinés à un angle qui les rapproche du centre à trois ouquatre pieds de profondeur. Ces trous de mine doiventêtre à moitié remplis de poudre C.X.L. extra et bien bourrésavec de largile humide jusquà lorifice du trou, puis éclatésensem
