Prof. Guilford, to avoid the pain caused by the slipping upof the ligatures and wounding of the gums, has devised theattachment of thin gold clasps to the teeth, which may be heldin position by a cement, as the oxy-phosphate, and the tying ofthe ligatures to these. The same operator has also devised a simple appliance forproducing torsion, which I give in his own words:— From llic Dental Office and Laboratory, Oct. 1878.
