English: Manston House. This is a Grade II Listed house, originally C17, but entirely rebuilt in 1857. The Hanham family of Manston House were advocates of cremation, and were instrumental in re-establishing the practice of cremating the dead in Victorian Britain. The family mausoleum is in the grounds just north of the church 741797. |
