Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Manor House Underground Station, 6 April 2023. The station was opened in September 1932, the first station northwards on the 1932-33 extension of the Piccadilly Line from Finsbury Park to Cockfosters. The station was designed by Charles Holden, consultant architect to the Underground Electric Railways of London and in European Moderne style, although this particular station is rather minimalist on the surface compared to his others. The interest lay in the concourse and its ceiling. Pictured is the cieling with circular mouldings and inset lighting and fluted columns.
