- description side A: king Aigeus, Medea with fur cap and patterned dress, holding vessel of poison (to poison Theseus?), the bull of Marathon bound to a tree, Theseus with club sitting, Peirithoos sitting, Athena - side B: Tyndareos with sceptre, Leda with a gesture of surprise, the egg on the altar, the 2 Dioskuroi - above the handles (each): woman - production place: Athens - painter: manner of the Dinos Painter (D´Henry) or: workshop / circle of the Pothos Painter and the Kadmos Painter (Giudice); My opinion: The Kadmos Painter depicted also Leda with the egg, but in a totally different style of drawing; the fluent lines of the drapery fit well into the workshop of the Dinos Painter. - period / date: classical, ca. 420-400 BC - material: pottery (clay) - findspot: Montesarchio / ancient Caudium, tomb 1006 - museum / inventory number: Montesarchio, Museo Archeologico Nazionale del Sannio Caudino 28443 (M 1006) - (formerly in: Benevento, Museo del Sannio) - 2022 in: München, Staatliche Antikensammlung, special exhibition Samnium und die Samniten - bibliography: Beazley pottery database nr. 9022312 - Giada Giudice, Il Tornio, la Nave, le Terre Lontane.
