Description
English: The famous temple of Manakamana located in Chandragiri Municipality Ward No. 1, Kathmandu District. This Mankamana Mata temple is located near the mausoleum of Kazi Kalu Pandey or Switzerland Park.

This temple of Mankamana Mata was established after the first battle of Kirtipur in 1814 Jeshtha, before the third battle, after the statue or image of Bhagwati Mata Mankamana Mai was installed at Dahchowk under the leadership of Kazi Vansraj Pandey. After the construction of Kazi Kalu Pandey's mausoleum, Kazi Kalu Pandey Kazi Tularam Pandey Memorial Foundation, under the chairmanship of Mr. Himalaya Bahadur Pandey, the construction work of Mankamana temple on the south side of the mausoleum was completed on 30th Ashwin 2069. It was damaged in the earthquake of 2072 and reconstructed with the help of archeology and Chandragiri Municipality Ward No. 1.

Inside the temple there are stones of various deities including Manakamana Mai.
