Description
English: Steam at Manchester Victoria in 1953: two 2-6-4Ts and two 0-6-0s.
This another view westward from the long platform between Victoria and Exchange stations - cf. SJ8499 : LMS Fairburn 4MT 2-6-4T on banking duty at Manchester Victoria and others. While two ex-L&Y Aspinall Class 27 3F 0-6-0s (originating in 1889; Nos. 52089, withdrawn 12/60 and 52358, withdrawn 12/56) are awaiting banking work up to Miles Platting, one Stanier 4MT 2-6-4T, No. 42621 (1938 - 10/62), runs through light engine and another, No. 42646 (1938 - 9/62) is at Platform 12.
