Summary
[edit]DescriptionManchester Standard Wythenshaw.jpg |
Taken on Saturday 11th June, this is the Mancunian which celebrated it's 40th anniversary by doing a tour of some of the old Wythenshawe and Northenden/Princess Road-based routes of the 1970s and early 1980s. It's a Park Royal-bodied Daimler Fleetline which was ordered by Manchester Corporation but delivered new to SELNEC PTE in June 1971 and was originally based at Princess Road depot in Moss Side (which closed in March this year....Sadly!# It later moved to Northenden and was withdrawn by Greater Manchester Transport in May 1984, it went into preservation in it's withdrawn state #the post-1980 GMT livery). It was restored to the 1974-ish GMT livery in 2008. Seen here outside Wythenshawe Bus Station |
