Manchester Geographical Society. A New and Complete Abridgment or Selection of the most Interesting and Important Subjects in the antiquities of England and Wales: being a complete collection of beautiful views of the most remarkable buildings and ancient ruins drawn on the spot. To each view will be added, an historical letter-press account and description of its situation, when and by whom built, with every interesting circumstance relating thereto. Collected from the best authorities. By Francis Grose, Esq. F. A. S. to which will be added, by the editor, many additions, necessary alterations, and great improvements; as also various picturesque views of some of the principal seats of the nobility and gentry; And the most remarkable Antiquities, Romantic Prospects, and other Curiosities in Scotland and Ireland. Likewise a complete set of county maps, by the best artists. The whole collected from the most respectable authorities, and forming a grand repository of taste, elegance and entertainment.
