Summary
[edit]DescriptionManastir Pokajnica - crkva brvnara.jpg |
English: The church was built in 1818 by Vujica Vulićević, the prince of Smederevo Nahija, military leader and national elder. This is evidenced by the inscription on the icon of St. George, as well as the year engraved in the talpa, to the left of the entrance to the church. Its origin near the place where Vujica Vulićević participated in the murder of his godfather Karađorđe was interpreted as an act of repentance, which is why the temple got its name. It served as a church until 1954, when it was converted into a monastery.
