Description "The Man of the Crowd", a short story by Edgar A. Poe, Graham's Magazine, December 1840, Vol. VII, No. VI, p. 267-270. In 1840, William Evans Burton sold the magazine, Burton's Gentleman's Magazine, to George Rex Graham. It was then merged with Casket to become Graham's Magazine, which began publication with the December 1840 issue.
