Description

Mammatus clouds are relatively small bulges protruding from the bases of certain clouds. They are usually associated with storm clouds.

The mammatus clouds shown above are only moderately developed. The accompanying precipitation consisted of sprinkles.

Locality: view from Interstate 70 at & near the town of Zanesville, Muskingum County, eastern Ohio, USA
