Description
English: Komuravelli is a village about 85 km northeast of Hyderabad.
  • A Shiva temple called the Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, or phonetically shortened as Mallanna Swamy Temple is locally popular. It is unclear when it was built, but the plain architecture and style suggest it to be about late 16th-century or 17th century. It has a more ancient cave temple with a male deity and two goddesses, locally identified as Shiva with Parvati in two forms.
  • It is a popular temple, with some devotees arranging traditional folk singers and musicians to accompany them as they climb up in the temple. Some climb rocks to reach sacred spots, a practice linked to local mythologies. It sees many faithfuls during Makara Samkranti and Shivaratri.
  • The temple is Dravidian, has a major gopura and a pushkarini (temple tank).
