Malachite box with hinged lid (English)
This malachite box has a gilt bronze frame and base with a velvet interior. It also includes a gold key with two faceted stones. The box was given to Lyndon B. Johnson by His Excellency Aleksey N. Kosygin, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. It was presented at the Glassboro Conference in New Jersey, June 23-25, 1967. The maker is unknown. (English)
